Anxious to drive one of the high-performance, exotic cars at SPEEDVEGAS? We’ve got your beginner’s guide to driving one of our high-performance supercars right here. Be sure to check out Part 1 of our guide if you haven’t already done so.
- Surprising the Brain: As referenced in the first part of this guide, anticipation is key to proper reactions while behind the wheel. Escalating speed and high acceleration have a tendency to cause anxiety in some people, causing the driver to make involuntary, emotional responses. These emotional responses are usually the wrong ones so be sure to prepare yourself for the high speeds so as not to overload your brain.
- Unfinished Business: The easiest tell of a novice driver is a hurried movement. Newer drivers have a tendency to react too quickly and neglecting what they were doing beforehand. This can be something as simple as shifting at inopportune times, but generally speaking, it is always better to take the time to complete one maneuver before beginning another.
- Too Fast Into the Turn: This is perhaps the most common occurrence of the previous entry in this guide, carrying too much speed into a turn is not the most efficient means of driving a track. This one falls on the driver to control themselves as much as they control the car. Having the proper judgment of a turn and your current speed is key to understanding how far in advance you should be braking into a turn.
