Weight reduction is commonly achieved by the heavy use of carbon fiber. For the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, Carbon fiber components were used extensively to include the mirrors, seats, and door panels. All of these carbon fiber parts helped to reduce the Gallardo by 220 lbs over the standard production model. Even the wheel lugs of the Gallardo Superleggera were crafted out of titanium to reduce even more weight. Lamborghini has yet to release any information on the performance stats or changes that are being made for the Lamborghini Huracan Superleggera. This has led many to believe that the Superleggera will only be released in rear wheel drive since the front axels and differential work against the goal of reducing weight.
