Our friends at Forbes recently mentioned SPEEDVEGAS. Thanks for the shout out!

A record 40,000,000+ people visited Las Vegas in 2014, and by most accounts Sin City is the third or fourth most popular tourist attraction in the world, dwarfing icons such as Walt Disney World and Niagara Falls.

The city’s appeals are obvious, and while the vast majority of visitors once came for the gambling, many now embrace the world class dining, entertainment, and frenetic 24/7 action that outpaces every other U.S. city in terms of raw energy. There are tons of options, but also many icons, and virtually every visitor to Las Vegas will stroll The Strip and catch the dancing fountain show at Bellagio, erupting volcano at the Mirage, or animated statues at Caesars Palace. Some will crane their necks to look up at the city’s own “Eiffel Tower,” and many will make it to suddenly trendy old Downtown Las Vegas and its greatly expanded array of attractions, museums and eateries.

But almost all visitors will miss out on a slate of very interesting and unique lesser known options, well worth seeking out and many of them available no place else.

For instance, while Las Vegas is well known for its poker sharks, very few visitors know that Mandalay Bay’s aquarium, Shark Reef, is on of the few in the world that allows SCUBA certified guests to get in the tank and swim with actual sharks, such as the fierce Sand Tiger. In the same vein, several resorts worldwide let you swim with dolphins, but only the Mirage offers a Dolphin Trainer For The Day Program – and even Dolphin Yoga!

Fast, shiny cars are a huge attraction in Las Vegas. Soon an entirely new facility, SPEEDVEGAS, will open with its own purpose built, F1 inspired racetrack featuring 12 banked corners and 2,650 foot straightaway. The folks at SPEEDVEGAS previously operated a number of top rated Vegas area driving activities and will have a fleet of exotic supercars alongside the new breed of American muscle like the Dodge Charger SRT8 and the Mustang Shelby GT500. For a much different kind of “driving,” with even more power but slower speeds, only in Sin City can you take the controls of a bulldozer or excavator. DigThis Vegas is a one-of-a-kind heavy equipment experience.

What other fun things might you be missing when you head to Vegas? What about the nation’s craziest zip line ride? A once in a lifetime gourmet experience, with a rare steak tasting featuring some of the only real Japanese Kobe beef in the U.S. alongside obscure lobster varieties you didn’t even know existed? What about golf lessons from the guy who taught Tiger Woods back when he was breaking every record in the book? These and many more offbeat offerings are waiting in Las Vegas.
