(December 17, 2008) - With their first ever 200 mph Xtreme event successfully completed December 14th at the Miami-Dade Air Force Base in Homestead, Florida, World Class Driving has offered enthusiasts the world''s only 200 mph challenge experience of its kind. Professionally managed under the tutelage of accomplished professional drivers ever at an airfield strip several miles long serving as the course, the inaugural Xtreme driving event was one all participants will remember for a lifetime.
"World Class Driving designed several road courses on the airfield in order to perfectly acclimate drivers to the high speed handling of our supercars. The first part of the day was dedicated to developing the right chemistry between our participants and the instructors, as well as teaching them how to command horsepower in the reliable and safe environment that a flat airfield landing strip offers," comments World Class Driving Co-Founder, Jean Paul Libert. "World Class Driving made the first Xtreme event a success for all participants involved. At the end of the day, we were proud to see four of our participants break the 200 mph behind the wheel, another ten go between 190 mph - 199 mph, and yet another achieve 189 mph." The performances were achieved with the new Lamborghini LP560, Ferrari 599 GTB and Ferrari F430.
Professionally managed by an exceptionally trained staff of respected professional race car drivers, Didier Theys serves as chief driving instructor for the Xtreme program. Serving alongside Theys is a remarkable array of professional driving talent including fellow Belgium racer Vanina Ickx (Jacky Ickx''s daughter), Grand-Am and Champ Car driver Jan Heylen, and noted GP2 competitor Nelson Philippe. Through an amazing group of professional instructors, World Class Driving was able to immediately build the kind of controlled confidence in participants needed to get them ready for the extreme speeds they all experienced, driving faster than they ever have before.
"How did I spend my day? Drifting a Mercedes McLaren SLR at 120 mph with Chief Driving Instructor Didier Theys urging ''More! More! More!'' Vanina Ickx (Daughter of racing legend Jacky Ickx) was looking through her binoculars at me saying ''good job'' after a run I made in an Audi R8. But the very best was going 207 mph in a Koenigsegg CCX. It was a day I''ll never forget. How did you spend yours?"

No matter what speed the day''s Xtreme participants were able to achieve driving behind the wheel, all Xtreme participants were guaranteed to get the adrenaline rush 200 mph brings by driving passenger side with Le Mans and Indianapolis 500 veteran Didier Theys in the Koenigsegg CCX. The stunning, 608-horsepower Swedish supercar performed beautifully and was provided by Universal Autosports, the official distributor of Koenigsegg for the East Coast here in the United States. Behind the wheel of the Koenigsegg CCX, Theys was able to record a top speed of 208 mph with Xtreme participant Bob D. from Philadelphia riding shotgun.
"It was amazing to see the improvement in all the drivers in just one day. They all did great and we were very supportive in their attempts to break the 200 mph barrier," said World Class Driving Instructor Nelson Philippe. "We personally briefed each of them on each supercar''s overall performance and engineering to give them a great level of driving comfort for their 200 mph runs."
This has been an amazing experience! We had a wonderful day of driving fabulous cars under the guidance of absolutely fantastic instructors! World Class Driving could not have done a better job fulfilling our lifelong dream of experiencing driving a car at a speed of 200 mph. We''re looking forward to the next event!
