While the body styling of the two cars being tested is very similar to the current C7 Grand Sport, it is hard to miss the massive rear wing that is attached to both examples. Currently there is no information on the engine package that is going to be used for the C7 Corvette ZR1 with most pundits in the automotive industry firmly under the opinion that Corvette is going to save their newly developed engine for the C8. The name ZR1 has been reserved for the most extreme examples of the Corvette with the last appearance being made in 2009.
Spy Shots – 2018 C7 Corvette ZR1 Spotted Road Testing
Images were recently captured of what appears to be a final edition C7 Corvette ZR1 that is expected to be released to the public ahead of the announcement of a mid-engine C8 that is rumored to be unveiled at the Detroit auto show. Both the coupe and the convertible versions of the C7 were spotted testing together earlier in the week. Rumors of ZR1 branding have been swirling since May when General Motors trademarked the ZR1 name with the US Patent Office.
