One could hardly want more than the Ferrari 488 GTB. After all, it is a surprisingly capable and blisteringly fast Italian exotic. With carefully engineered tweaks and modifications, it is incredible what can be achieved.

The 488 Pista is basically a hot-rodded 488 GTB, retaining the same basic engine (3.9-liter twin-turbo V8) and same construction. However, with a new camshaft, pistons, and larger intercooler, the power is up by 50 hp to 720 hp, while the torque remains basically the same at 568 lb-ft. The 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox is also improved with faster shifts and better software.
The improvements are clearly made in order to create, already fantastic 488 GTB, even better for track driving when optioned for the Pista model. The aerodynamics are changed, and this red fury now offers 20% more downforce, which is essential when chasing that 225 mph top speed and getting even better 0 to 60 mph time of 2.85 seconds. Coincidentally (or not), even the name itself is track-related, and “pista” means race track in Italian.
