Taylor and teammates Jeff Gordon, Jordan Taylor and Max Angelelli benefited from a no-call as the No. 10 and No. 5 Cadillac made contact late in the race, which ended with the No. 10 passing for the lead.
After the race Gordan was quoted saying "I haven't been this emotional for a win and an experience like this for a very long time." "The reason is because I know what this means to this team. Oh my gosh. This is amazing -- Daytona has always been special, but this one sent me over the top. I'm just blown away right now."
Gordon is in historic company following Sunday's win, joining Mario Andretti, A.J. Foyt and Jamie McMurray as the only drivers to win both the Daytona 500 and the Rolex 24.Endurance races are always emotional. For a team of racers exhausted, sleep deprived, and physically at their wits’ end to hoist the trophy and stand on the podium after a 24 hour endurance race; emotional joy is the only anticipated reaction.
